Minutes of mini-OPERA workshop on 2003-06-14 at Nagoya
- Current status
- Refresh facility ( T.Nakamura )
-
Refresh chamber installation will begin next week.
First delivery will be in August as scheduled.
- Exposure setup ( A.Ariga )
-
Mechanical work was finished. SFT calibration is in progress.

- Automated development system ( N.Naganawa and S.Ishikawa )
-
Ready to develop real emulsion sheets.

- X-ray mark ( M.Uno )
-
The simplest mark ( only 1 line ) looks promising.
Cupper slit is being prepared.
- S-UTS ( T.Nakano )
-
Debugging is in progress.

- Stack to stack ( brick to brick ) connection in CHORUS ( O.Sato )
-
Recent progress in CHORUS ananlysis enables us to connect
a track in a stack ( brick in OPERA ) to other stacks.
Calibration of about 100micron over 1.4m x 1.4m was proved to be possible.
Components of event location are almost ready.
No preparation has been done for sheet exchanger in Japan but Bern prototype is rather promising,
- Discussions on future plans
- Test in F-lab
-
After SFT calibration,
SFT to CS connection and scan back in a brick should be tested using mini-OPERA setup.
All steps as described below should be tested before the setup is brought to KEK.
- Brick packing in F-lab ( to be moved to TONO when the facility is ready )
- Exposure to cosmic rays with SFT DAQ
- Development by automated development system
- Scanning with UTS ( S-UTS will be used when ready )
- Test in KEK PS
-
Proposal should be submitted ASAP.
When it is submitted, beam line study using a fiber block should be arranged.
- Possible upgrade of mini-OPERA as an replacement of OPERETTA
-
OPERETTA status was presented briefly by Imad.
A possibility to upgrade mini-OPERA setup ( i.e. 5 walls, each having 5x5 bricks, and 5-6 TT planes )
was suggested as a replacement of OPERETTA for neutrino beam exposure.
- Discussion about TT.(on 16th)
- There are already useful TT planes and DAQ system in Lyon.
Who does treat it? and How to install it?
Party for celebration of Refresh room construction.
